Tar Heel Gameplay

About

Tar Heel Gameplay is a collaboration between the department of Computer Science and the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The original concept was proposed by undergraduate Jeremy Kim in a First-Year Seminar, Comp 80 Enabling Technology, in spring of 2015. The site was developed by Gary Bishop with help from Jeremy and in consultation with Karen Erickson. Jeremy was supported to work on the project in the summer of 2015 by a UNC Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.

The site is built on the open-source WordPress framework using a custom theme we borrowed from Tar Heel Reader.

Speech synthesis for browsers that do not support the SpeechSynthesis API is provided by Responsive Voice under their non-commercial license.
